Yoga is a system or discipline, a part of which, including breath control, simple meditation, and the adoption of specific bodily postures, and is widely practiced for health and relaxation.
The word yoga originates from the term “yuj”, meaning to join or union.
If one is practicing the art of being present with themselves, they are in a state of yoga. The goal of the practice is to liberate oneself from the ego. It teaches you how to show up for yourself. Flexibility is not required for one to do yoga. However, one might experience the benefits of flexibility in their body and mind when they do yoga.
The bi-products of a consistent yoga practice are increased awareness, wellness and health. Through a practice, we are able to release that which disconnects us and realize that love is the universal principle that drives our thoughts, actions and behaviors.
Love becomes the energy of stability.
